Hello and welcome, I’m Jack Killeen, a curious, driven, and slightly energy-obsessed student currently splitting time between an MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler (focusing on Energy, Sustainable Enterprise, and Venture Capital) and a Master of Environmental Management at Duke University (Energy & Environment, with a secondary focus on Environmental Analytics & Modeling). I started all this with a BA in Economics from Villanova, which gave me a foundation in markets and policy that’s followed me ever since.
I’ve worked at the intersection of clean energy, sustainability, and finance—first at Bessemer Trust, where I helped raise over $1 billion in new assets, much of it in hedge funds and private equity. From there, I pivoted to the world of climate innovation, joining InventWood to work on international expansion, market strategy, and financial modeling. More recently, I interned with Blueridge Climate Ventures, digging into early-stage climate tech deals, performing due diligence, and helping scout what’s next.
Outside of work and school, I recently ran my fourth marathon (NYC!) to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a cause I care deeply about. I also enjoy hiking, running, camping, and spending as much time outside as possible. Nature has a funny way of keeping you grounded when you spend your days thinking about how to decarbonize the grid.
Welcome to my website, where I share my unfiltered thoughts on energy: mostly nuclear, but also renewables, transmission, and whatever else I can’t stop thinking about.
